About Me

Every person has a story to tell and I would like to share mine.  I was born deaf and take great pride in that!  My family is deaf as well.  For me, deafness is not a disability, but a different perspective in life.  All of my life I have proven to others that my deafness have not been a stumbling block in my successes.  Sure, it has been a challenge and I have experienced roadblocks, but who hasn’t?  This is part of my life’s journey!

My desire is to share with others my passion.  This website is a way for me to share new recipes, fitness tips, and faith.  What makes me unique is that I aim to bridge the gap between the deaf and hearing communities together.  My desire is to become a positive role model to both worlds.  Here’s a little background of my journey…

I love to cook!  At the age of 13, I found my passion in cooking.  I have been mostly self-taught.  I watched different cooking shows, read various cooking materials, and am always searching for new recipes to try or adapt.  At a young age, I became a family chef.  To this day, I still cook for my family whenever I visit.  I also love to cook for my friends for any occasion!  Food and cooking is a way I love to give to others.  Currently, I follow a plant-based vegan diet because I feel it’s best suited for me.  Whether you are vegan or not, I invite you to incorporate more plant-based foods in your diet.  I guarantee you that you will feel better about yourself.  Food does not have to be boring.  It is actually exciting and pleasurable!  Feel free to look through my recipes for any ideas.

Fitness has always been a part of my life.  I have been a well-rounded athlete all of my life.  I have set personal and state records in high school in various sports.  My greatest accomplishment was winning the division 1 state high school golf championships for three consecutive years.  This made me the first ever, in the Wisconsin state history, at the time to accomplish that feat.  I went to college on a golf scholarship.  I competed in every golf tournament and graduated with a health & fitness degree from Purdue University.  The other two sports that I truly loved while growing up were basketball and soccer as well.  Currently, I see myself as a marathon runner and love to lift weights.  Running is a way for me to escape form the stresses in life and have my alone time.  It is my desire to participate in triathlons and ultra-marathons in the near future.  Fitness can be fun and exciting!  I encourage you to find ways to make it fun for you!

My faith is a huge part of my life!  I am a born-again Christian and I love Jesus with all my heart, mind, and soul.  I grew up in a Christian family and received Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 7 years old.  I have been on a journey in my personal relationship with the Lord ever since.  And I know I will constantly be challenged and have more journeys ahead of me!

I have spent a considerable amount of time from when I graduated from college until now in discovering who I am and what I am truly passionate about.  I have big dreams of what I want to accomplish in life.  I have several passions and that is food, fitness, and faith.  It is my desire to pursue a personal training certification and a vegan culinary certification.  It is my dream to start a food and fitness business.

Thank you for taking the time to read this page and I hope that you will not only be inspired, but challenged.  I encourage you to embrace a personalized journey of holistic living in order for you to live your life to the fullest.  Life is simply too short to “just get by,” so why not step out of your comfort zone and have fun?

I am looking forward to an amazing journey with each and every one of you!  Let’s do it!
